GERMANY - DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC (DDR) (EAST)

The German Democratic Republic(DDR) was formed on October 7th 1949, after 3 of the 4 occupied areas of Germany were formed into the German Federal Republic (West Germany) and the Russian controlled area was formed into the DDR (East Germany). these occupied areas were the division of Germany after the second world war. the DDR continued until 3rd October 1990 when the two Germanies were reunified.
