ETHIOPIA

The Federal Republic of Ethiopia is a north eastern African country has a unique place in African countries that, apart from 5 years during world war II when the Italians invaded, it has never come under colonial rule. Emperor Haile Salassie ruled until 1974 when the military Junta , The Derg, took power.they themselves were toppled in 1991 and 3 years later Ethiopia adopted a constitution with municipal elections the following year. The Capital city is Addis ababa.
The Ethiopians have their own calendar called the Ge'ez calendar. The ethiopian year 2005 started on September 11th 2012 in the gregorian calendar.the language of Ethiopia is Amharic and the written scriot is called Ge'ez
