BURMA UNDER JAPANESE OCCUPATION
The Japanese Occupation of Burma, during World War II, lasted from 1942-1945. It ended when anti-fascist nationalist army, under the command of Aung San, rose up and expelled the japanese forces from Burma. It was then, that independence talks begun with the Burmese and Britain which led to full independence in 1948.
the notes above are ; the 100 rupee note from 1944, the 10 rupee note from 1942/44 and the 1 rupee note from 1942. None of the notes have a date on them. both the 100 and 1 rupee notes have their numbers in the western style however the 10 rupee note has both western numerals and the roman numeral for 10 - X. All have a two lettered serial number.

MYANMAR (BURMA)
The Socialist Republic of the Union of Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, is a country in south east Asia, who's capital city is Rangoon. Burma finally came under british rule in 1886 after 60 years of wars between burma and the british. In 1937 , Burma became a administered colony of Britain and in 1948 became fully independent. In 1962 the military staged a coup d'etat and has been in control ever since. Its always difficult to know what to list these under as there is still disagreement over what the country should be called. i usually go with what the country's own government say so thats why its Myanmar.
Monetary unit : 1 Kyat = 100 Pyas
the 4 notes above are from the 1996 issue each with a different reverse , 20 Kyat - elephant fountain, 10 kyats - an elaborate Barge, 5 Kyats - men playing a ball game, and 1 Kyat - a canoe race.
The two notes above are the 1 Kyat from 1990 , with General Aung Sang (Father of Aung San Suu Kyi) on the front. The 50 Pyas note is from 1994 with a musical instrument on the front.
This note above, is not listed in any of my reference books, but is a 1 Kyat note from the Union of Burma Bank. It has Aung San on the front and a musical instrument on the reverse.
