CAYMAN ISLANDS

The Cayman Islands are a British crown dependency to the North West of Jamaica. It consists of 3 islands Grand Cayman, Little Cayman and Cayman Brac with the Capital being Georgetown. The islands were colonised from Jamaica and administered from there until it joined the Federation of the west indies in 1959. When the Federation broke up 3 years later The Cayman Islands chose to stay as a British Dependency .

The one Dollar note pictured is from 2006, with the queen on the front and a seascape on the reverse. A quick mention of one of the security features on this note ; on the reverse left there is a plant / coral/ bush type thing and if you shine a UV light it highlights a turtle with the letters CIMA (Caman Islands Monetary authority) I#ll say some more about security features at a later post.

Here's some info about the latest Cayman Islands issue.
