AUSTRALIA

Australia has the distinction of being the smallest continent and the largest island in the world. its currency was pounds until 1966 and then the dollar. it is still part of the British commonwealth.

Surprisingly , this is the only Australian banknote i have in my collection. its a 1 dollar note from 1983 (i think) - there are lots of years with the same design , so it comes down to the signature john stone is fine but the other looks like it may be R A Johnston if it is then its 1983. the reverse has aboriginal art. Australia was the first to produce a polymer note in 1988 and are now commonplace there.
