AFGHANISTAN FROM 1381

This is a 2 Afghani note from SH1381 (CE2002) with the victory arch near Kabul. Unfortunately it no longer looks like that and has suffered the same fate as many other areas of Afghanistan in the ongoing conflicts.

MORE FROM AFGHANISTAN

Here we have a wee collection of notes from afghanistan (see here for more) starting with the 1000 Afghani note from 1991 (1370 SH) with the blue mosque (mazar-e-sharif) on the front and the victory arch near kabul on the reverse. the next one is the 500 Afghani note which is a better one than the one already listed here.

the next note is the 100 Afghani note from 1979 (SH 1358) featuring the bank coat of arms and a farmer on the front and the Naghlu hydroelectric dam on the reverse. Finally , again from 1979 (SH 1358), is the 50 Afghani note with the , now ruined, Dar al Aman palace

AFGHANISTAN

The, Much Invaded, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, was founded in 1747 but only got independence from British rule in 1919, then in 1979 was invaded by soviet troops to help a communist takeover bid and then in 2001 by a British / American led alliance who are still there today. It is bordered by many countries , including Pakistan, Iran , and China.

The notes above are a 500 afghani note from the solar year(sh) date 1370 (i think) which would make it 1991. the reverse (pic 1) has a picture of the fort at kabul and the front (pic 2) has horsemen playing a game called Buzkashi.

The other, lovely pink, note is a 1 afghani is from sh1381, thats 2002, the building on the back is the beautiful mosque at Mazar-i sharif
