The Republic of Burundi is a landlocked country in central Africa with its capital city as Bujumbura. Burundi's first democratically elected president was assassinated in October 1993 after holding office for only 100 days.this sparked ethic violence between the Hutu and the Tutsi's. after nearly 12 years of fighting it is estimated that at least 200,000 Burundians died and many more became refugees inside Burundi as well as in neighbouring countries.

Prince Rwagasore on the front and the arms on the reverse
This note from 1993, with a drummer on the front , shows the coat of arms better than the last one. this is the 50 franc note.
These notes from 2005 10 and 20 francs, have different styling even though they are from the same issue.
