DOMINICAN REPUBLIC




The Dominican Republic is 2/3rd of the island of Hispaniola , with the other 1/3 being Haiti.the island was claimed by Christopher Columbus in 1492 for Spain. for the next 350 years there was various battles over their part of the island but finally became independent in 1844. capital city is Santo Domingo.
Monetary unit : 1 Peso Oro = 100 Centavos Oro
