POLAND






The Republic of Poland is a country in central Europe with its capital city as Warsaw.The Kingdom of Poland, which is roughly equal to modern day Poland, was formed in 1025 and survived many wars up to the second world war where its capital was 85% destroyed. after 1945 Poland became part of the Soviet Bloc until 1989 when it collapsed and multi-party elections occurred.

monetary unit: 1Zloty = 100 Groszy 1919 onward

The 3 notes above are the 1000, 500 and 100 Zloty notes. the 1000 note is from the 1982 issue with Copernicus on the front and atomic symbols on the reverse. the 500 Zloty from 1979, has Tadeusz Kosciuszko on the front and arms and a flag on the reverse.The 100 Zloty note has Ludwik Warynski, a socialist activist, on the front and his Newspaper - The Organ of the Proletariat on the reverse.this note is from 1986.



This note is the 50 Zloty note from 1948. It has a sailor on the front and ships docked in the harbour on the reverse.
