NETHERLANDS EAST INDIES
The Netherlands East Indies, sometimes called the Dutch East Indies, was a Dutch colony which is now Indonesia. The colony came under Dutch control from the Dutch east Indies company in 1800. In 1942, during world war II, the Japanese occupied the territory and after the war finished local nationalists demanded and got the territory returned to them and formed Indonesia.
The note above is a Japanese occupation note from 1942, it is a ten Gulden note with a banana tree on the front and coconut palms on the reverse
