The Republic of Panama, is a central American counrty, a former colony of spain, when Panama gained its independence from spain it became a department of Colombia. After many wars, finally it gained independence from Colombia to be controlled by The US, which continues to this day. The capital is Panama City.
Monetary unit:
Bilboa - there were only 2 issues - 1933 and 1941 - for the rest of the time the US dollar is used.
