The Independent State of Papua New Guinea (PNG), is a country in Oceania, and takes up one half of the island - the other half being the Indonesian Provinces of Papua and West Papua. Its capital city is Port Moresby which has a horrific reputation as one of the least safe places to stay. PNG gained its independence from Australia in 1975 and is now a member of the commonwealth of Nations.

This is one of my favourite documentaries and shows what people power is, it also shows how resourceful people are when they have to be . Bougainville is an autonomous province of PNG.
