VANUATU



The Republic of Vanuatu is an island nation in the South Pacific ocean. It's capital city is Port Vila. The Indigenous peoples of the island were originally Melanesian. in 1774, Captain cook named the islands New Hebrides, by which the islands were known until independence in 1980.

100 Vatu = 100 francs

The note above is the 200 Vatu note from the 1995 issue with a Melanesian chief holding a spear on the front and a statue of a family on the reverse.
