TAJIKISTAN



The Republic of Tajikistan, a former soviet republic, is a country in Asia.Its capital city is Dushanbe. Tajikistan came under Russian control in the late 19th century and became a soviet republic after the Bolsheviks took control in 1917, first as part of Uzbekistan and then in 1929 as the Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic. In 1991, with the fall of the USSR, Tajikistan declared independence. Tajikistan is a member of the UN.

Monetary Units:

1 Ruble = 100 Tanga  up to 2000
1 Somoni = 100 Dirham = 1000 rubles 2000 onward

The Note above is the 1 Dirham note from 2000. It has the Sadridden Ayni theatre and opera house on the front and the Pamir mountains on the back






The notes above are all from the 1994 issue and are as follows the 20 Ruble, 10 Ruble, 5 Ruble and 1 Ruble notes all with the coat of arms on the front and the parliament building on the reverse (see below)

This is the reverse of the 1 Ruble note but all the above are similar.
