LATVIA







The Republic of Latvia, a former soviet state, is a central Baltic state with a capital city of Riga. Latvia comes from the ancient tribe of Latgalians, one of the 4 Baltic tribes that made up the majority population of the area.Latvia became a republic after WWI and was annexed by Russia in 1940. its regained its independence in 1991 after the fall of the Soviet Union.Latvia joined the EU and NATO in 2004.
