INDONESIA

The republic of Indonesia is the world's largest archipelago , with it's capital city as Jakarta. collonised by the Dutch in the 17th century and occupied by the Japanese in the second part of the WWII (1942 - 45) and gained Independence from the dutch, after UN intervention, in 1949. It has the biggest muslim population in the world and has had internal conflict with it's people in Aceh and in Papua .

Monetary unit: 1 Rupiah = 100 sen (1945 onward )

The notes above are the 1964 "sen" set of notes from 1 - 50 sen printed on slightly thinker paper than would normally be used.

this note is the 1 Rupiah note from 1945 with President Sukarno on the front and  a smoking volcano , possibly Krakatoa, on the reverse.

The note above is the 1992 , 100 Rupiah note with a sailboat on the front and anak krakatoa on the reverse.
