ISRAEL

The state of Israel has its capital city as Jerusalem. Following the end of WWII the British pulled out of their mandate in Palestine and the UN divided the area up into Arab and Jewish states, a situation the Arabs didn't, and still don't, agree with. subsequently, Israel defeated the Arabs in a series of wars which has done nothing to lessen tensions in the area.
