This is the 100 sucre note from Ecuador with a stern looking Simon Bolivar on the front and a rendition of the country's coat of arms on the reverse.
The Sucre , as well as being the Ecuadorian money it is also a proposed regional currency proposed by the Bolivian alliance for the Americas (ALBA) as a direct alternative to the free trade agreement of the Americas and the use of the US dollar as a medium of exchange that would lessen the influence of the US in south america.
