MORE MONGOLIA
This is a wee set I got the other day not realising that I had some of them already but I'm not that worried as they are a good set !!
they are:
100 Tugrik from 2008
50 Tugrik from 2013
20 Tugrik from 2013
10 Tugrik from 2009
5 Tugrik from 2008
all the above have Damdin Sukhbaatar, a founder of the Mongolian peoples Party on the front and and the Soyombo symbol on the reverse .
The final note is the 1 Tugrik from 2008 see a description HERE . it is no longer used and I believe this is the last date that was issued. .The Tugrik was split into Mongos but they are not used now either as they are almost valueless.
The word Tugrik comes from the mongolian word for "circle" ( as in coin ??) and is used also for "full moon" - Tugrik Sar
The Tugrik replaced the Mongolian Dollar in 1925 and had the same value as the Russian Rouble.
