LOVELY DESIGNS ON A 200 RIAL NOTES

Yellow seems to be the in colour at the moment. This note is the Yemeni 200 Rial note from 1439 in the Islamic calendar or 2017/18 in the Gregorian calendar . The front has the fortress at Zabid and the reverse has a landscape in the Al Mahrah Governorate. I like the designs on the edges which meet up if you make the note into a tube.

THE FINAL THREE NOTES FROM THE IRANIAN SET

So this time we have 3 notes from the Islamic Republic of Iran. They are the 5000, 10,000 , and 20,000 Rial notes.

The first two images are the 5000 Rial note which has the Ayatollah Khomeini on the front and pottery from Zabol on the reverse.  The date of this note is 2013 and it is from the 3 series of that note.

Images 3 and 4 are the 10,000 rial note and has the Ayatollah Khomeini on the from but on the left hand side of the note - all the other notes I have , have him on the right side. The Back has the tomb of the Persian poet Hafez, in Shiraz . This note is from 2017.

And finally the 20,000 Rial note, with the Ayatollah on the front and on the back is the windcatchers of Abarkooh. This note is from 2014.

All 3 notes have the Ayatollah as the watermark but in the 10,000 Rial note Ayatollah Khomeini is looking down and wearing glasses as if he was reading.

THE SECOND IF THE IRANIAN NOTE SET

These two notes are the 1000 and 2000 rial notes from the Islamic Republic of Iran. The first two images are the 1000 rial note with Ayatollah Khomeini on the front and the dome on the rock, Jerusalem on the back. The issue dates are between 1992 and 2019 but the have the no 35 signature combination.

The 2000 Rial note has the Ayatollah on the front and the back has the Kaaba , which is the cube at the centre of the mosque in Mecca. The dates above apply to this note and it has the same signature combination too.

Ayatollah Khomeini is the watermark on both.

THE FIRST OF A SET OF IRANIAN NOTES

O
These notes above are the 200 and 500 rial notes from the Islamic Republic of Iran. The top two images are the obverse (front) and reverse (back) of the 200 Rial  note. The front has the Jame mosque of Yazd and the back has farmers. The actual date is a bit more complicated. We know that it’s from the issue period of between 1981-2005 and has the signature no 28 (from the standard catalog of world paper money).

The 500 Rial note is the bottom two images with the front having the image of a prayer gathering and the Feyziyed madressa  Religious school in Qom at the bottom left. The back has the entrance gates to Tehran university. Again it doesn’t have a date so it’s from the 2003-2009 issue with the signature combination 33

Both notes have Ayatollah khomeini as the watermark

A RATHER LOVELY BIRTHDAY PRESENT

The note above is a one pound note (£) from the national bank of Scotland. The national bank was founded in 1825 in Edinburgh, Scotland and was a commercial bank until 1918 when Lloyds bank took them over. They continued to use the name until 1959. After a few takeovers it eventually became part of the Royal bank of Scotland, which still operates today.

This is the second £1 note from this bank but this is in a much better condition and was issued in 1958, one year earlier than my previous one. A wee thank you to my friend Gillian  who gave me this beautiful note. You can see more notes from Scotland HERE
