TRIPOLITANIA
Tripolitania was one of three provinces of Libya. It was situated in the North west of the country and was an Italian colony from 1927 up until Italy gave up any claim in 1947. The British administered the area from 1942 until libya became independent in 1951. In 1963 Libya reorganised the country into smaller Govenorates which split the area into 5 governorates.
This Note , the 10 Lire note, is from the allied occupation during WWII. It is undated but is from 1943. In this issue the 2 lire note is the rarest so look out for it !!!!!
