EQUATORIAL GUINEA
The Republic of Equatorial Guinea is Africa's smallest country made up of an onshore part ( Rio Muni ) and some offshore islands. It gained independence from Spain in 1968.
Monetary Units:
1 Pesetas guineana = 100 centimos (until 1975)
1 ekuele = 100 centimos (1975-1980)
1 Epkwele + 100 centimos (1980-1985)
1 franc (cfa) = 100 centimes (1985 onward)
1 Franco = 4 bipkwele (plural of Epkwele)
the note above is a 100 Ekuele note from 1975 with president Biyogo on the front right and a harbour scene on the reverse.
