BRITISH OCEANIA

In general terms, Oceania is the name given to all the island of the pacific and traditionally has been broken up into 4 parts: Australasia, Micronesia, Melanesia and Polynesia. however in banknotes it refers to the Gilbert and Solomon islands, New Britain and Papua new guinea  These were all part of the British territories ( see also French Polynesia )

The two notes above are from 1942 and ,as well as the 1/2 shilling and one shilling there are also 10 shilling notes and one pound notes ( I've still to find them)
