THE GENIAL FACE OF AN ABSOLUTE MONARCH

This note is from Swaziland or the kingdom of Eswatini as it was renamed in 2018, it is the 10 Emalangeni note from 2015 with king Mswati III on the front and on the reverse is a portrait of the princesses doing the kingship ceremony (Ncwala).

The  genial picture of King Mswati III belies the absolute monarch's extravagant lifestyle that has left his countries subjects in absolute poverty

A SUDANESE BILINGUAL NOTE

This note is from across the border from the previous post. This is the 2 Sudanese pound note from 2017 .  It has pottery on the front and musical instruments on the reverse.

ANOTHER TWO NOTES FOR MY SOUTH SUDAN COLLECTION.

Here we have two additions to my collection of notes of the world newest country (i think) . I already have the 1, 5 and 50 pound notes

The first is the 10 pound note from South Sudan with, as all the notes have,  John Garang, who led the "Sudan Peoples Liberation Army"  on the front and in the case of the 10 pound, buffaloes and a pineapple on the reverse. this note is from 2016

The second note is the 20 pound note from 2017 with a similar front but with Oryx and a oil derrek on the reverse.

A KAZAKH POET WITH VERY LITTLE WRITTEN ABOUT HIM

This is a 1993 note from Kazakhstan. The 3 Tenge note features  Suinbai Aronuly a Kazakh poet and author born in 1815. I haven't been able to find much more about Suinbai . The reverse has a forest and river scene.

A LOVELY PURPLE NOTE FROM THE GAMBIA

this note is the 50 Dalasi note from The Gambia. Issued in 2019 it follows the trend for purple and unusual blue colours in notes. This note has birds ( possibly ospreys)  and the Gambian coat of arms on the front and the standing stones of wassu.  The Senegambian stone circles are the largest concentration of stone circles in the world. the birds were a replacement for the former president jammeh after he went into exile.
